TONI&GUY Fall Trend Forecasts Straight from Fashion Group International

It's starting to feel a lot like fall, with fashion weeks having come and gone, October nearing its end and the holiday season so close we can almost hear whispers of sleigh bells and Mariah Carey's version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You." But for us, the most exciting symbol of fall is the new trends that we finally get to unleash from our closets and beauty vaults.

But since we're firm believers in being ahead of the curve, while we're flaunting this year's bold lip trend and en vogue textured lobs, we're already thinking about next year's best looks. Accordingly, last month members of the TONI&GUY team took the stage at Fashion Group International in Toronto, Ontario in Canada to give our professional, beauty authority predictions for upcoming trends in haircuts, colour, makeup and editorial looks for the fall 2017 season.

Since we couldn’t all hop on a plane to Toronto for the big event, we’re here to break it all down for you. Read on to find out what went down at FGI, highlights of the trends that are predicted for Fall 2017 and where the inspiration for each trend was drawn.

Hair Style Trends:

With androgyny being all the rage, this style is a clear frontrunner. This cut is for the minimalist ready to make a bold statement. Plus, it’s a style guaranteed to deliver a perfect hair day every day.

Fun flirty fringe with layers is a trend that has major retro roots. This style matches perfectly with the resurgence of the '70s natural grown out haircuts. It’s great for women who style their hair with natural texture. From long shaggy fringe to choppy asymmetric baby fringe, it's all fair game for fall.

Inspired by:  George Clooney at the Baftas & Oscars in 2013 sporting facial hair and others like David Beckham, Johnny Depp, and Chris Hemsworth inspired longer hair shapes in men.

Britalian fashion forecasters are shocked that the undone trend has lasted so long. They believe this trend symbolizes the masculinity and strength of men. This look is for ambitious, rebellious men that are fashion forward and seeking to create an effortless look.

Hair Colour Trends:

Spotted: Celebrities like Hilary Duff, Emma Roberts and, most recently, Kylie Jenner have led the way in rose gold hair colour.

This is a great shade for all skin tones. It’s a softer alternative to the bold fashion shades that we have seen throughout the years, making it more versatile and office-friendly.

Cosmetic Trends:

Spotted: Giambattista Valli, Holly Fulton and Kenzo runways.

We are beginning to see more and more non-traditional items used as makeup. Hints of glitter on the eyes and futuristic graphic eyeliner create a unique head turning look. This look is great for drawing attention to the eyes, or a night out on the town.

Which trend are you most looking forward to? We can't wait to try them all!
